I also piled the flooring product on the already laid down rows. What I did was assembled 3 rows about 6 inches from the wall and installed some stops at length to sides Once I had that assemble, I took the stops out and slide the whole assembled floor with the help of another person to the required clearence from the wall, once in place I secured screws at the edges so the whole floor would not shift & i could easily remove once I had enough rows. This was a nightmare on startup until I went to the site and looked at the pattern that they suggested. I have in the later years used the snap & click laminate flooring from Dupont, armstrong and pergo. I like many have installed these laminate floors in all my homes as far back as 1983 when we had to glue them. " Yes I did agree with some of the installers"
#Reclaime quick step install
Without much effort you can find better flooring at better prices that you can install yourself without pulling hair or causing a divorce. I lost my butt on this job and I feel for the homeowners because I don't think that this shoddy product will hold up for even a year. Two grown, experienced men could not push the pieces together as their instructions indicate - we literally had to beat the out of every single plank to get it to go together and to keep the ends from separating - and therein lies the problem - once you have beaten the out of it you have nothing left - because the product is 100% fecal matter. Was I ever wrong! The included instructions sound so easy but I'll be damned if that is the case. I had never before installed QuickStep Studio (and after today I shall never attempt to do so again) and when they told me what they had paid and they had purchased it at Lowes I assumed that their difficulties lay in the fact that this was their first time to try to install laminate flooring. The reason we were called is that they had become so frustrated in doing the install themselves. That job took us 12 1/2 hours to complete - even though the homeowner had cleared the room of all contents, removed the carpet and padding, and had everything swept up. And no matter what DO NOT purchase this sub standard crap!ĭo yourself a favor Please avoid QuickStep Studio flooring! I am a residential contractor who has been installing laminate flooring for 20 years and only once have I laid flooring that was worse than this (and that stuff was on clearance at Surplus Warehouse.) My helper, who has 12 years experience with all types of flooring installations, and I just today finished a 300 sq ft job. It won't! My advice, no matter what a sales rep tells you, do your own research.

Seriously if this is one week in, how will this last in a normal home? Oh. The entire kitchen was flooded and the under flooring was destroyed and they had to pull it up and redo my kitchen. the installers were very rough and they broke the water line on the back of my refrigerator-which they didn't know - 4 days later I noticed bubbling and swelling in some of the planks, here we go again. Guess what happened - the entire floor buckled and became uneven.

Within an hour of installation the installer accidentally overflowed my toilet - and we immediately mopped it up and he turned the fan on and said give it 24 hours. Ummmmm isn't a floor suppose to be able to take the wear and tear of "living" in your home. It will be destroyed and the company you purchased from along with Mohawk will try and accuse you for causing water damage. Well, this IS laminate and it may be waterproof in terms of water not seeping into the planks from a spill but believe me if any large amount of water hits this stuff - watch out.

He told me it was an engineered hardwood and was waterproof and would work well in my kitchen and bathroom. The first thing I told my sales rep is that I do not want laminate flooring - oh then do I have a great floor for you then.
